Container Service - The Baby booms

K+S Transport GmbH's comparatively young container department has been growing rapidly. Booking volume now amounts to more than 40,000 TEU per year.

A cooperation agreement with BASF allows us to have constant access to attractive freight prices as a result of the bundling of our volume. However, regular forwarding was not enough for us: There was also a need to optimise pre-shipment from production sites belonging to the K+S Group as well as from external customers.

In conjunction with two closely associated partners, we formed Börde Container Feeder GmbH (BCF), an inland waterway shipping line that sails twice a week from the Haldensleben terminal to Hamburg. This combines attractively priced shipment with a reduction in road traffic - economy and environmental friendliness that go hand in hand with each other.
